Do you feel stuck creatively? Do you have trouble prioritizing your creative practice? Have you wanted to pursue art but are not sure where to start?

The Artist’s Way workshop series is a vehicle to deepen our understanding and connection to our creative process through weekly readings, prompts, and peer discussion. The creative process is one's own personal journey, this workshop gives the tools and the space for the individual to be supported. In addition to the group discussion, we will explore playing with different mediums throughout the course, this includes but is not limited to: collage, carbon paper, shrinky-dinks, touch drawing, photo transfers, stencils, etc.

The Artist’s Way Course & Mixed Media Workshop

Course Description

Description: This is a peer-led “creative cluster” as Julia Cameron would say. The facilitators organize meetings, start off group discussion, and ask questions but, this is not a workshop run by creative gurus. The intention of this group is to process our creative discovery in an egalitarian manner. The facilitators may be leaned on for structure and guidance, but they must be willing to share their process and answers as well. Most importantly, they must not be instructing/telling others how to go about their journey.

  • In addition to weekly readings, peers are expected to do Morning Pages everyday and Artist Dates once a week (including facilitator/s).

  • During the weekly meeting (2hrs), everyone (including the facilitator/s) will discuss questions and share answers prompted by this week’s chapter.

Weekly Meetings: 2 hrs

Morning Pages: 30 minutes every morning, or at least 3 pages

Artist Dates: at least 1 hr, can vary depending on the activity you choose.
